FAQ

Household batteries in Townsville & Cairns.

Which size battery do I need?+
The size is printed on the battery — AA, AAA, C, D or 9V on the everyday ones, and a code such as CR2032 on a coin cell. Bring the old one in and we'll match it.
Can you change my car key battery?+
Yes. Bring the key in and we'll fit the new coin cell.
Are these batteries in Cairns too?+
Yes. GP batteries are on the shelf at both the Townsville workshop and the Cairns branch.
What do the GP Discovery torches and headlamps run on?+
Three AAA batteries, alkaline or NiMH rechargeable, according to GP's specifications.
Are coin batteries dangerous for children?+
Yes. A swallowed coin cell can cause serious internal injuries very quickly. Keep spares in their packaging and out of reach. If you think a child has swallowed one, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 or go straight to an emergency department.
