New golf carts for sale — LVTong

Leisure carts, premium golf carts, lifted carts, utility ute carts, 2, 4, 6 and 8 seaters.

Used golf carts and buggies

New is not the only option. Used and pre-loved carts come through alongside them, including trade-ins. Second-hand golf buggies as well as new ones. What is on the floor changes, so call or drop into either branch and we will tell you what is there.

Lithium battery conversions and upgrades

Drop your old lead-acid bank, install a 51V Eco Battery lithium pack. Battery, charger, state-of-charge meter and receptacle, with the BMS built into the pack. Eco Battery's published figures put lithium at about a third of the weight of lead-acid, with around three times the life expectancy.

Specialty carts and custom modifications

Hospitality, food and beverage, linen and medical carts are built by the supplier and ordered in to the configuration the job needs — tell us what it is for and we will spec the right one. The modifications, accessories and parts on top of that we fit here.

Sound systems, lighting and winches

Sound and audio fit-outs, lighting and beacons, winch fitting, and tyre and wheel packages. Tell us what you want on it and we will price the build.

Golf cart repairs, servicing and parts

Parts for all brands of cart, not just the ones we sell. We hold stock for EZGO RXV, Yamaha 48V and LVTong A627/A827/B827/S2-B-HP — solenoids, motor brakes, charger receptacles — and bring in parts for other makes as needed.

Golf cart accessories and covers

Covers, seats and windshields, cool-dry covers, wheels, steering wheel parts and F/R switches. Browse the parts shop or call for what's not listed.

Suspension, brakes and tyres

The premium carts run car-like suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Tyres and wheels to suit, whether the cart lives on a course, a farm track or a resort path.

Getting your cart to us

A trailer is the simplest way to get a cart to the workshop, which is the simplest way to move one. If trailering it in is not workable at your end, ring us and we will talk through the options.

Where the carts go

We are in Townsville and Cairns, but the carts travel a lot further. We have supplied up the coast through Port Douglas and onto Cape York, south to Hervey Bay, and across to Darwin. If you are outside the region, ring us with what you are after and we will work out how to get it to you.

What sits out the front changes. Colours, seat counts and fit-outs vary with what has come in and what has gone out, so if you have something particular in mind it is worth ringing before you drive over.

Lithium vs lead-acid

What changes when the lead comes out.

The upgrade worth understanding before you buy. The differences below are general to the two battery types rather than to any one brand, and they show up in how the cart behaves day to day — not just in how far it goes.

Lead-acid still has a place. It costs less up front, and a cart doing light work on a short run may never ask for more. Lithium earns its keep on carts that work daily, carry weight, or spend their life on hills. Tell us how yours gets used and we will tell you straight whether the upgrade is worth it.

Know the symptoms

Signs your cart needs a look.

These are the common ways a golf cart tells you something is wrong — general to how carts are built rather than to any one brand. Lead-acid or lithium, LVTong, EZGO or Yamaha, the symptoms read much the same. Any of them is worth looking at before it strands you somewhere.

Won't hold charge overnight, or it's flat by morning
Range has dropped off — it used to do the round and now it doesn't
Slows right down on hills it used to climb
Cuts out under load, then comes good after a rest
Charger won't start, or stops before the pack is full
Goes in forward but not reverse, or the other way round
A click from under the seat and the cart doesn't move

A cart is an electric vehicle, and Townlec has been diagnosing vehicle electrical faults since 2008. Controllers, chargers, wiring and the intermittent that only happens on Tuesdays are the same trade on a smaller chassis.

We diagnose before we replace

Golf cart questions.

Is a golf buggy the same as a golf cart?+

Same vehicle, different word. Australians use both, and we answer to either. Everything on this page — new, used, servicing, parts and lithium upgrades — applies whichever you call it.

Where can I see the carts?+

Carts are at the Townsville workshop and in the Cairns showroom. Call or walk in — either is fine. Stock varies, so ringing first means we can tell you what's on the floor before you drive over. If the model you are after is not there, we can order it in.

Do you hire golf carts?+

Yes. Tell us what you need it for, how many, and roughly when — we will put a quote together to suit.

Do you repair golf carts and supply spare parts?+

Yes — service and repairs on carts, and we can source spare parts as needed. Bring it in, or send us the model details and what it is doing.

Can a golf cart be registered?+

For commercial use, a golf cart can go on conditional registration, and we help our account customers through it. It is not something we arrange for private carts.

Can I trade in my old cart?+

Yes. Send us photos and the model details.

Do you work on carts you didn't sell?+

Yes. We hold parts for EZGO RXV, Yamaha 48V and LVTong at both Townsville and Cairns, and bring in parts for other makes as needed. The brand on the front does not decide whether we can help.

Can any golf cart be converted to lithium?+

Eco Battery's own fitment guide names EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha and ICON among the brands its kits suit. Send us the make, model and battery voltage and we will confirm the fit before quoting.

How do I get my cart to you?+

A trailer is the simplest way. If you have not got one, or the cart will not roll at all, ring us before you organise anything — a cart that cannot be pushed on has to be loaded differently, and it is worth sorting that out first.

Do you deliver outside Townsville and Cairns?+

Yes. Buy a cart from us and we can get it anywhere freight can get to. Carts have gone up the coast through Port Douglas and onto Cape York, south to Hervey Bay, and across to Darwin. Tell us where you are and what you are after, and we will work out how to get it to you.

Can you fit lights and a sound system?+

Yes. Sound and audio fit-outs, lighting and beacons, winches, and tyre and wheel packages. Tell us what you want on it and we will price the build.

What is the difference between a 2, 4 and 6 seater?+

Seat count and length, mostly. A two-seater suits a course or a small property. A four-seater adds a second row. Six- and eight-seaters are the people-movers, for sites shifting crews or guests. Utility versions swap the rear seats for a tray.

How long does a lithium pack last?+

Eco Battery Gen 3 carries a 12-year pro-rata warranty — pro-rata meaning the cover reduces over the term rather than staying full replacement for twelve years. How long one actually lasts comes down to how it's charged and how deeply it's cycled.
