Who we are

This policy covers Townlec Auto Electrical (ABN 47 613 368 880), including our Cairns branch, which trades as Lift Easy Townlec, and this website.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us. If you would rather not use a form, you can ring us instead.

• When you send an enquiry, a quote request or a stock check through this website: your name, phone number and email address, a business name if you give one, and what you tell us about the job — such as the vehicle, its year and rego, the problem, and any photos you attach.
• When you call or visit us: the details we need to deal with you and do the job.
• When you buy online: checkout is run by Shopify, which collects your contact, delivery and payment details. We receive your order details, but not your full card details.

How we use it

To reply to you, quote, do the work, supply goods, and keep the business records we are required to keep. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Otherwise we only share your information where you ask us to, where it is needed to do your job, or where the law requires it.

• Brevo, the email service that delivers enquiries from this website to our inbox. Brevo is based in France.
• Shopify, which runs our online checkout, and its payment providers. These are based overseas.
• DigitalOcean, which hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, and they may be located overseas.
• Google, which provides the website analytics described under Cookies, and the map on our contact page.

Cookies

This website sets one cookie of its own. It remembers what is in your shopping cart, for up to 30 days.

We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to count visits and show how the website is used — such as which pages are viewed, and whether someone clicks to call us or sends an enquiry. Google Analytics does not receive your name, phone number, email address or anything you type into our forms. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

The Google map on our contact page and Shopify's checkout may set their own cookies, under Google's and Shopify's privacy policies.

How long we keep it, and how

Website enquiries arrive in our business email. If our email service is ever unavailable, an enquiry is held in the website's server log instead so that it is not lost. We keep information only as long as we need it for the job and for our business and legal records, and we take reasonable steps to keep it secure.

Seeing or correcting your information

Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, and correct or delete it where we can. Some records, such as invoices, we have to keep by law.
